Is this me?!

Posted March 10th, 2010 by lmingr

I don’t know if it’s my new hairdo or maybe …. I don’t know… but I feel differently! Good different actually…Just the other day, for the first time, I wear shorts to office and top it with black stockings and a nice top. I can’t help but say so myself, I look good! giggle…. The shoe I bought was really a good investment!

Im glad my health is slowly on amend after a bad scare. I still constantly eat cereal, drink yogurt and eat proper lunch… Just praying that I won’t have any scares on my back :P If I do, hmmmm… wonder if a tatoo would be me?! My friend Janelle got a tatoo i think, and I do find it sexy! lol~

I finally finish the “triangular bag”. This was started January and it was put on hold and was able to finish it yesterday only. It also comes with a leather pouch which I plan to keep my simple jewelry. I love the combination of purple leather strap together with orange red leather. I believe I’ll make more~ (photos coming soon)

Remember Chooper pattern? Well, I finish sewing him up last night and tonight I might get to stuff him but I doubt I’ll be able to finish since I’ll be home late.. Maybe tom night he would be ready… That pattern was design by “hugmebear”…

So cold in here all of a sudden… feel like vegitating!….

Good Health = Wealth

Posted March 2nd, 2010 by lmingr

I have always heard the saying Wealth is Health.. and well, I guess I thought as long as I eat something and don’t care if there much nutrients on it, I will be ok. But I’m so wrong.

The week of Chinese New Year I notice a problem in my health and was so concern on it, I have overlook on something that pop out of my skin. I did however wonder why I’m having pimples on my face when I don’t usually have.

When I did notice the pop on my skin, it was alot! It looks abit like chicken poks and I didn’t know so I press it :P Than when I felt my back is like in heat, that is when I realized I got a big problem!

Initially, doc just say it was heat problem.. My skin wasn’t able to breath maybe bec of what I have been wearing and stress. I got medication good for 3 days and need to check back.

When I went back, I informed doc that it grow and got scattered… It did scare me this time because I don’t know what it was and it’s giving me a pain. Good thing no itch, but at times the pain, makes you want to scratch it but being abit vain, I didn’t want to leave marks on my back! hahah…

I think in english is called Shingles… In chinese, they call it “snake belt”. It’s like a revolve of the Chicken pops that revive itself when your body is most weak or when your system that fight sickness wall is off.. This would mean I’m more prone to sickness.. This sure catch my attention.

In my desperation, lately I have been sleeping by 10Pm, drinking yogurt, buying some fruits to eat, eating right meal for lunch instead of my normal noodles.. My fingers are cross that I don’t get sick.. I’m thinking if I should go and take the H1N1 shot being offered here in Taiwan…

Looks like, all my bears are going to take longer to finish than usual. But I will need to finish 3 bears that are sitting there for me to finish.. My purple Panda is getting impatient with her bag because Im taking too long to finish her bag..  a bag she would proudly show off hehehe…

Happy Chinese New Year

Posted February 10th, 2010 by lmingr

Lately been so busy with preparation for the Chinese New Year which start midnight of Feb 13~Feb 21. It would be a long break and I’m still awaiting for my kit to arrived from ViVianne of Galli Bear Collection. I have never try the “antique” look and im itching to try it… Here is the bear I’m suppose to make and his name is Chopper.

I have finished a panda bear but still haven’t finish it’s accessories.. She wanted a bag and I’m not quite finish with her bag. She is quite anxious actually to show her face… so I will give more peek to how she look like..

For those who know me, I love purple and this was a wonderful fabric to really work with.. I’m just sad I’m left with not much of this mohair… and doubt I can get this mohair again! =(

I have been practicing on my sewing machine and compare to previous, my sewing did improve. Not fully perfect, but at least better corners~ =D This is what we called persimmon. It’s a fruit that usually found during Chinese New Year season. It’s kind of cute. On the photo, you will see it like a pouch. But do you know, when you turn this thing inside out, it can hold candies? or small items that your heart desire.

I have made it pink to have a variety of colors and it looks kind of pretty =D I have send these two to my friend and need to work on the rest and have it posted out by tom! Yikes, I’m running late!!!! But I do enjoy making it.

Best of both worlds

Posted February 4th, 2010 by lmingr

This month Feb 2010 marked my 3rd year in Taiwan since I left Manila in Feb 2007. The move wasn’t easy and those who knows me, knows why such decision was necessary. But after 3 years, at times I do wonder myself if it was the best decision for me, or I’m just a crazy old fool…

Life in Manila I would say, I felt I lived a grand life. Go shopping in malls, drive my gas efficient new 2006 Honda City, have a fiancee, a job that is both stressful and challenging, a teaching job which I love so much.. but with all that, there were personal issues which was never resolved. So I left Manila hoping that things will finally settle down because I do want to settle. But what we want, we don’t always get our way… that is something we learn in life~

In Taiwan, living away from my family is not something new because I live in our employee dorm for about 3 years. But the fact that you have no one to share or talk with when you go home, or when you watch tv with, that is something I need to adjust. It wasn’t easy.

I felt from a “Princess Cinderella” life, I have turn into a pumpkin. Could you believe I have to pay a small room that is not even bigger than my room back in manila and it cost me an arm and leg?!

I never have to walk to get to places in Manila. Even just around the corner like 10mins walk, I would always drive~ lol…. Here, it’s walk walk and run for the bus!!! haha… I can’t believe I would walk at times like 30 mins to get to my destination! But you know what? Even with the pollution and rain, I love every single minute of it.

After 8yrs of ups and down and some really down down, by mutual understanding, we have to say good bye. Letting go of someone whom you consider your best friend, your fiancee and one day you hope father to your kids, it’s really hard. When you realized it’s not best for any of you, letting go at times is the best gift. A childhood friend of mine told me he can’t understand that. How can you let go of someone you love? When you care enough and want the best for them and make them happy, you will even if your heart is breaking. It’s selfless love because your not thinking of yourself. But I do pray, someday, I will find someone who will think I’m a gem hehee.. even if I don’t look like one =P

But living a pumpkin life isn’t so bad. Slowly, from a small place, I have moved to a bigger and with big window apartment! Gosh! I miss seeing the sunshine and hearing the rain!

All my life, I have love arts or things related to creativity and my parents just cant get it why and whom I got it from… I just do.Maybe I was adopted?! hahaa kidding~. I might have gotten abit craft from my mom, but she only does knitting. I do cross stitch, arts, painting and no knitting! haha.. In Taiwan, I got to learn how to make teddy bear which was totally cool… from there on, a whole world open up and I also found great friend where ever I went and I felt so lucky and blessed.

So maybe being a pumpkin isn’t so bad. They are kind of cute when you carved it :p You know who your real friends are and alot of them have help me all these 3 years because of some language barrier difficulty. I felt I have mature alot in my way of thinking, and realized what I want for life.

If someone ask me way before would I ever consider being a housewife? My mind have always been “stay at home wife? no way!” haha I think the saying that you get wiser as you get older, is true! If my future partner ask me one day, I would jump with glee this time! I love doing handmade stuff and it fit the “work at home” .. If I get lucky, maybe I can teach kids few times a week and yet take care of my own family. This would be a dream~ Now, I hope I meet this person! haha… One low down I notice here in Taiwan, guys look too much on the physical aspect of a girl. So simple old me, it’s going be a tough competition :P But I know I’ll get lucky… mmm someday~ haha

It’s almost new year… a girl can make wishes and hope right? Hope God will start answering my prayers…nudge ..nudge to God~ =P

iPhone pouch

Posted January 11th, 2010 by lmingr

My phone been begging me for a cover for so long and I have been searching for a pouch that shout “ming”…. But so far, I haven’t found it yet… and thought why not start the new year 2010 with a pouch to pass the time =p

While waiting for the count down, I was busy sewing my design and concept.. It isn’t how I envision the celebration but this year, I will spend it with someone!!! Hmm maybe about time I get a puppy~ =D hahaha

So here is my phone…

Don’t you just love the gingerbread man? His my favorite and he reminds me of the gingerbread man in Shrek… Such a funny guy~

I can charge my phone even with this soft case on… And since it’s soft, I can easily remove it… the little fellow (gingerbread man) get’s stuck in the gap at time hehehe … too much sugar? =D

My first try in embroidery some design, so it’s not my best work….

Laptop Sleeve

Posted January 2nd, 2010 by lmingr

This was something I finished after Christmas. I want to have a sleeve for my laptop so that I can just put it inside any bag without scratching it. My Samsonite Laptop bag not only I love the design, but it’s also practical. But one low down is that it’s abit heavy even without my computer.

This computer I have have been with me for almost 3 years and the battery is really weak. So this would mean that I would need to bring around the charger all the time, thus, the weight. So I finally decide to make some simple changes such as basic small pouch that I would be carry when I bring my computer around. I always travel light…

Here is my work….

What does this look like? I combines 2 red suede at the side..

First time designing it, good thing it fit exactly :P

Because during sewing, the fabric wasn’t all that straight.. And knowing me, I want all the dimension to be exact, so with that, the allowance were cut off :P   During cutting,I mistaken some measurement and over cut some fabrics lol… But it’s always a learning experience.

This is design by me..

I never thought of designing small stuff but I really enjoy it..

Hope you guys like it too? =)

Now… a bear to complete this hehehe :)
