Our Blue Iguana

Blue Iguana name came to be on 2009. It was just suppose to be “Blue Iguana” but the name was taken, so I have to be satisfied with “Our Blue Iguana”. Blue because that is my favorite color and Iguana because they constantly change base on the surrounding there in. My works is for everyone and it’s constantly changes.

This is my own unique brand of hand made teddy bears and I have added coin purse and handmade bags to my line of works. I hope to expand my handmade designs to kittens, rabbits and dinosaurs!  I don’t stick to one kind of thing or style and I love doing arts & craft so I do hope to incorporating it with my Teddy Bears and there friends. So what is your blue iguana bear is my tag line because all of us have different characteristics and style. Maybe my spare of the moment interest is you. It would be up to you to find what beary friends “calls” you.

All my bears and friends as well as the coin purse are hand sewed 100% so lots of work and time is put into it. Even blood at times! =) Doing this type of things, you cant help having mishaps like pricking your fingers, or loosing a bear arms hehe but I enjoy every moment of it even if at times I’m working until 3Am.

I’m constantly learning and improving how I present my work and at times not all things would look so professional but I give my best. I have put alot of efforts and heart into every little thing I do. I hope you will also appreciate my work =)

How I got into Bear Making in the First place?

Would you believe it there were two things. Here is the story:

I saw a Chinese tv series and it’s a comedy romance. This guy named Teddy like this girl alot, but she like another guy (who plays basketball). In order to impress that basketball guy, she decide to make a teddy bear for him but it was so hedious looking that Teddy need to help her fix it up… So he started from scratch.

I thought to myself “hey! I never make a teddy bear before, why dont I give it a try?” So I bought a book, but no supplies so I did a search and found supplies yet at the same time, I found a school here in Taiwan who teaches bear making. I enroll myself for the basics and been hook since than.

My godson Yiyi like dinosaurs and they dont look cute enough for a kid. Since I don’t know how to make stuff toy, and I know I will learn to draw a pattern soon, I said why not give it a try!…
