Cotton Life vol 2

The magazine was out for like 2 months and just have the time now to update! sorry~

Well, I’ll photo some part of the magazine where I was featured or assisted..I was asked by my teacher ( Dream Bunny) if I would assist her on this magazine.

She teach patchwork and answer most commonly ask questions students have about patchwork. I concentrate on the modern style such as bags or pouches instead of trying to sew all those tiny pieces of fabric together! Gosh, I don’t think I got that much patience hehee…

I’m so proud of my shoulder ballerina bag. It took me a long time to put it all together because we have to consider the image and where to cut or connect the other side of the fabric. But the outcome is great!

The bag which was featured on the magazine will be posted to etsy soon. You can email me at ming@ourblueiguana.com if interested to purchase.

I name her from the heroine of  “Dear John ” by Nicholas sparks.. I know the story is kinda sad but my Savannah is different.. you familiar with the song of “tie a yellow ribbon on the old oak tree”? alot of meaning in that song.. well, that’s why she have a yellow ribbon too… she is lacking a yellow ribbon so yet to put it on her =p

Savannah loves to collect stamps and received mails from all over the world. She gets excited when there are packages or mail address to her.. She keep some of her favorite postcards on her mailman’s bag~

Savannah here convinced me to take her photo with a promise of giving me one of her collection post cards~

After trying so many background programs, I finally got one that works on my site and for me! It wasn’t that hard to because the programmer did write lots of information on his site… Thank you Charles~

However I have some insights and learning on this program:

  • For every song, I need to input my blog URL…
  • I need to go to a website and find the URL of the .mp3 file… I thought the links of embedded URL should work, but it didn’t

I just need to figure out how to let the song keep playing or activate once you go to my site. I don’t want you to have to click on “play” before it start…

Any idea Charles? hehee…

Here is his URL : Flash MP3 Player

I was so excited 2 weeks ago my teacher ( Patchwork) asked me if I would lend her my Ballerina bag which I made. She was asked to do a write up for a new magazine called ” Cotton Life” and would like to feature my bag as part of her article. Of course I would be honor!

In preparation for the magazine, I was able to assist her in making 3 sets of simple bags. It took us all afternoon because I have to sew it all up and since it’s for the magazine and all, it should be perfect. Aside from that, things that I give to people or sell, it should be perfect.. hmm… I’m such a perfectionist actually :p It should be all sewn properly. It’s a good thing I have alot of practice on my sewing machine and it look great! I can’t help but say so myself. Once the article is out, I will post it here again…I’m so excited!!!…

I will however share with you instead the photos during my making of the ballerina girl bag… photo’s coming soon~ sorry… camera in office so can’t upload :P

Enjoy~

When I saw these works, I just have to get it… because I felt as if that was me.. Isn’t it funny at times when you felt you really connect with a certain work of art?

I’m a frustrating artist for one… I can’t draw those cutey drawings but I can sketch a landscape and flowers… My friend Mike envy me because he doesn’t know how, but I envy him for his artistic skill in anime drawings.

These pouches are from Kukubee. You can find them at: http://www.etsy.com/shop/kukubee

This sure sums up how my bed looks! With all those stuff toys and bears. However I never get to learn to play the guitar =’( snifff

I love entering Starbucks because of the rich aroma of Coffee. I love to take coffee during the noon to perk me up! hehee.. Now, speaking of which,I think it’s time for my daily dose of coffee? =D

7-11 anyone?! (I need promo sticker!)

I love to skate!! Now I just need to get an outfit just like that!

I’m a big fan of Twilight.. I’m hoping the lion I found will like a chubby like lamb like me! meeeee!! wait.. that sounds like a goat.. hmmm :P

The feeling when you skate…

2010
03.31

In high school I dream of being the first Taiwanese skater to skate in the Olympics!! (hahah what a big dream!) But that dream was crash after my accident on the ice before my competition.. But I still love the feeling when you skate..

It was grade school when I used to have this notebook where I would write down my thoughts in poem format. It has been some time so I have lost touch on it.. Hope the poem I wrote below makes sense and I’m able to express what I want to say.

我愛他

As I put on my ear piece

listening to the lyrics keeping my mind at ease

I breath in the cool air that sound me

feeling that I have finally come home.

Strapping my old skates,

I slowly glide gently to the ice,

feeling the air that caress my face

slowly, lifting away my fears~

lifting away my troubles..

leaving me with nothing but an empty mind

but content. Very Content..

The sweet sound of the blade

cutting through the ice,

shesh sheesh is all you hear

when you glide on the ice.

What would make this moment more perfect?

ah.. but a knight in skates!

Now that would be a sight to never forget.

A knight who will catch you when you fall

who makes you feel your as light as the air you breath…

now, that is a dream..

Maybe one day, I’ll live in that dream..

maybe…

New Twilight Book

2010
03.31

I just came by this article this morning when I access yahoo.

Stephenie Meyer’s New ‘Twilight’ Book Introduces a Surprising New Heroine

by Joseph Brannigan Lynch · March 30, 2010

Well before “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” hits theaters on June 30, “Twilight” fans will be treated to a new glimpse into author Stephenie Meyer’s vampire universe.

On June 5, the 36-year-old multimillionaire author will releaseThe Short Second Life of Bree Tanner,” a novella that takes place concurrently with the events in the third “Twilight” book, “Eclipse.” Only this time, the bloody tale of revenge and romance will be told from the perspective of Bree, a “newborn” vampire recruited by antagonist Victoria (to be played by Bryce Dallas Howard in the upcoming film) to kill human heroine Bella Swan (played, of course, by Kristen Stewart).

If fans are confounded by the news that a minor character from the series is the star of the first “Twilight” book in two years, they’re not the only ones. “It’s a surprise…I never intended to publish this story as a stand-alone book,” Meyer says on her website. “I began this story a long time ago-before Twilight was even released. Back then I was just editing Eclipse, and in the thick of my vampire world…. I started writing from Bree’s perspective about those final days, and what it was like to be a newborn.”

The short story was originally slated for the upcoming tome The Twilight Saga: The Official Guide, but when Meyer’s publisher informed her it was far too lengthy for inclusion, they decided to release it as a separate book instead.

Anyone skeptical that the wildly successful vampire-genre author is just trying to bleed her fans for more money can rest easy-starting June 7 at noon and until July 5, the entire story will be available at www.breetanner.com for free. “You all have bought a ton of my books,” Meyer noted on her site. “I wanted to give you this story as a gift.”

The book will also be released in hardcover by Little, Brown on June 5. One dollar from the first 1.5 million copies sold in the U.S. will go to will go to the American Red Cross International Response Fund to help ease crises like those in Chile and Haiti.

WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS BELOW

Before Meyer decided to release “Bree Tanner” to the public, however, this short story was lent to “Eclipse” screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg to help her understand how Victoria-the vampire set on making Bella and Edward pay for her lover’s death-created her army of newborn vampires, and to provide details of the vampires’ feeding frenzy in Seattle.

Readers of the novel may recall Bree’s unique role in Eclipse-she was the only newborn vampire left alive after the Cullens (the good bloodsuckers) triumphed. But as the title indicates, Bree’s second life didn’t last very long. After being tortured by a member of the Volturi, Jane (played by Dakota Fanning in the film), Bree was destroyed for breaking the cardinal vampire rule: Don’t reveal yourself recklessly to humans.

I can’t wait to read it…
